SERVICE INFORMATION

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

CONDITION/CONCERN

Starting with the 2012 Model year, the Chevrolet volt is equipped with a feature that allows you to remotely open all the windows at one time by holding down the unlock button for approximately 5 seconds on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter. The feature is enabled on all Chevrolet Volts that leave the plant.

Some customers may request to have this feature disabled.

RECOMMENDATION/INSTRUCTIONS

If you have a customer that requests the feature to be disabled, please advised the customer to bring in the vehicle and you will have to reprogram (SPS) the Body Control Module (BCM) and select the option listed "DISABLE Remote Open All Windows feature of RKE transmitter" that is listed under the locking tab of the BCM

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
