SERVICE INFORMATION
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
CONDITION/CONCERN
A customer may comment that any of the following conditions may be present at start-up:
- Blower motor and/or indicators are inoperative
- Blower motor may be blowing but speed cannot be adjusted
- AC not blowing cold enough air
Upon further inspection, DTC U1510 MAY be set in the ECC (Electronic Climate Control) module. This module is commonly referred to as the HVAC module.
RECOMMENDATION/INSTRUCTIONS
If any of the concerns listed above are encountered, technicians are to reprogram the ECC module. An updated ECC module software calibration has been released to address these various concerns. If the concern is still present after the ECC has been updated, refer to SI and continue with standard diagnostics.
Refer to the HVAC System Control Module Programming and Setup procedures in SI.
The calibration for these concerns will NOT address or repair a base HVAC system concern on these vehicles. For example, if the system is low on refrigerant, the engine cooling fans are not working correctly, or if the vehicle has a base wiring concern, this PI will NOT repair these types of concerns.
