Installation Procedure

  1. Install the EBCM. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement .
  2. Install the brake pressure modulator valve assembly bracket bolts (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the brake pressure modulator valve assembly.

  4. Install the brake pressure modulator valve assembly bolt (1) and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
  5. Install the brake pressure modulator valve assembly nuts (1) and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  6. Install the left rear brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  7. Install the right rear brake pipe fitting (2) and tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
  8. Install the right front brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  9. Install the left front brake pipe fitting (2) and tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
  10. Install the master cylinder primary brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  11. Install the master cylinder secondary brake pipe fitting (2) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  12. If equipped with electronic power steering, position the power steering wiring harness and bracket assembly to the master cylinder body.
  13. If equipped with electronic power steering, install the power steering wiring harness bracket bolt and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  14. Connect the EBCM electrical connector.
  15. Install the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LKW) and Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LTG) .
  16. Connect the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector.
  17. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
  18. Program the EBCM. Refer to Control Module References .
  19. Bleed the anti-lock brake system. Refer to Anti-lock Brake System Automated Bleed .
  20. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle .
  21. Calibrate the brake pedal position sensor.
  22. Center the steering angle sensor. Refer to Steering Angle Sensor Centering .
