Circuit/System Verification

  1. Engine running.
  2. Verify the function of the E18 Rear Defogger Grid while commanding the Rear Defogger Active and Inactive with a scan tool. The E18 Rear Defogger Grid should turn ON and OFF.
    • If the E18 Rear Defogger Grid does not turn ON and OFF 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing - Rear Window Defogger Grid Malfunction

  3. Verify the function of the rear defog indicator while commanding the Rear Defog Indicator Active and Inactive with a scan tool. The rear defog indicator should turn ON and OFF.
    • If the rear defog indicator does not turn ON and OFF 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing - Rear Defog Indicator Malfunction

  4. Verify the scan tool Rear Defogger Status parameter changes between Off and On when pressing the rear defogger switch.
    • If the parameter does not change 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing - Rear Defogger Switch Malfunction.

    • If the parameter changes 
  5. All OK.
