Vehicle Key Learn

NOTE:

This procedure will erase all existing keys. All keys for the vehicle must be present.

NOTE:

This procedure will only learn the vehicle keys. This procedure will not learn the immobilizer prerelease password or the challenge/response data. Do not use this procedure as a substitute when replacing or reprogramming a theft or engine module. Doing so will result in a failure to learn the pre-release password and/or the challenge/response data.

  1. Connect a scan tool to the vehicle and access SPS.
  2. Ensure that all power consuming devices are turned OFF on the vehicle.
  3. Select the SPS application Vehicle Immobilizer Key Learn.
  4. With a scan tool, clear any DTCs.
  5. Verify each key is operating properly. Operate each of the keyless entry functions using the buttons on the key and then start the vehicle. When verifying operation, make sure that no other keys are near the vehicle.
