Installation Procedure

  1. Steering Column (4) - Install
  2. Ignition and Start Switch Housing Replacement - Install
  3. Start the steering column nuts (3) but do not tighten.
  4. Install the intermediate steering shaft (2) to the steering column (4).
  5. Start the intermediate steering shaft bolt (1) but do not tighten.

  6. Ensure that the intermediate steering shaft bolt (1) is securely seated in the groove (2) of the upper intermediate steering shaft before tightening.
    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  7. Steering Column Nut - Tighten [4x] 16 N.m (12 lb ft) 
  8. Intermediate Steering Shaft Upper Bolt - Tighten 30 N.m (22 lb ft) 
    NOTE:

    Any time the ignition switch has been disconnected, removed or installed; the vehicle keys must be re-registered in the BCM. Refer to GDS2.

  9. Connect the steering column electrical connectors.

  10. Instrument Panel Brace (2) - Install
  11. Instrument Panel Brace Bolt (1) - Install [4x]
  12. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement - Install
  13. Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement  - Install
  14. Steering Wheel Airbag Coil Replacement - Install
  15. Steering Angle Sensor Replacement - Install
  16. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
