Installation Procedure
- Steering Column (4) - Install
- Ignition and Start Switch Housing Replacement - Install
- Start the steering column nuts (3) but do not tighten.
- Install the intermediate steering shaft (2) to the steering column (4).
- Start the intermediate steering shaft bolt (1) but do not tighten.
- Ensure that the intermediate steering shaft bolt (1) is securely seated in the groove (2) of the upper intermediate steering shaft before tightening.CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Steering Column Nut - Tighten [4x] 16 N.m (12 lb ft)
- Intermediate Steering Shaft Upper Bolt - Tighten 30 N.m (22 lb ft) NOTE:
Any time the ignition switch has been disconnected, removed or installed; the vehicle keys must be re-registered in the BCM. Refer to GDS2.
- Connect the steering column electrical connectors.
- Instrument Panel Brace (2) - Install
- Instrument Panel Brace Bolt (1) - Install [4x]
- Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement - Install
- Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement - Install
- Steering Wheel Airbag Coil Replacement - Install
- Steering Angle Sensor Replacement - Install
- Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
