Removal Procedure

WARNING: Refer to Brake Dust Warning .
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector and release the connector (1) from the rear brake hose bracket.

  4. Release the wheel speed sensor harness from the rear brake hose bracket clip (2).
  5. Release the wheel speed sensor harness clips (1) from the rear brake hose.

  6. If equipped with J55, remove the 2 upper rear brake caliper cooling duct deflector fasteners. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Cooling Duct Deflector Replacement .
  7. Remove the rear brake caliper bolts (1) and position the caliper assembly aside. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (JL9, J55) , Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (J57) and Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (J56) .

  8. Thoroughly clean the suspension knuckle area surrounding the wheel speed sensor of any accumulated dirt and debris.
  9. Remove the rear wheel speed sensor bolt (1).

  10. Carefully pull the wheel speed sensor straight outward from the suspension knuckle and remove the wheel speed sensor.
