Installation Procedure

  1. Install the right side instrument panel upper trim panel (2). Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .

  2. When replacing the instrument panel assembly apply tape to the steering column adjustment lever and the surrounding areas to prevent marring.
  3. With the aid of an assistant, position the instrument panel assembly (1) over the steering column, over the gear shifter and into the vehicle.
  4. Ensure the sun load sensor wiring and centre speaker wiring (if equipped) is pulled through the access hole.
  5. Reposition and secure the instrument panel wiring harness into vehicle position at the indicated points.
  6. Ensure the accessory power receptacle/cigar lighter wiring is reconnected.
  7. Ensure all instrument panel dowels (side and centre) are relocated and locked in.

  8. Install the sun load sensor (1). Refer to Sun Load Temperature and Headlamp Automatic Control Ambient Light Sensor Bezel Replacement .

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  9. Install the instrument panel assembly fasteners (1) and tighten to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
  10. Install the instrument panel inflatable restraint module airbag inflatable fasteners (2) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  11. Connect the upper right duct air temperature sensor connector.
  12. Install the electrical connector to the instrument panel inflatable restraint module airbag inflatable.

  13. Install the instrument panel assembly bolts (1) and screw (2) and tighten to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
  14. Install the right side window defogger outlet duct.

  15. Install the selector lever housing (2) from the base (1) ensuring the four retaining tabs are engaged (3). Reconnect any connectors.

  16. Install the automatic transmission control lever knob (1). Refer to Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement .

  17. Install the instrument panel assembly fasteners (1) and tighten to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
    18. NOTE:

    These screws are longer than all other instrument panel assembly fasteners.

  18. Install the instrument panel outer air outlet duct retainer.

  19. Install the instrument panel assembly fasteners (1) and tighten to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
  20. Connect the data link connector.

  21. Install the instrument panel assembly bolts (1) and screw (2) and tighten to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
  22. Install the left side window defogger outlet duct.

  23. Install the right front floor air outlet duct (3) and reconnect the lower right duct air temperature sensor wiring. Refer to Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side .

  24. Install the head-up display bezel (1). Refer to Head-Up Display Bezel Replacement

  25. Install the instrument cluster (2) complete with the steering column upper trim cover and fabric closeout attached. Take caution to ensure the fabric closeout base plate pegs are engaged correctly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

  26. Install the radio front center speaker (2). Refer to Radio Front Center Speaker Replacement .

  28. Install the instrument panel ignition lock key transmitter antenna (1). Refer to Ignition Lock Key Transmitter Antenna Replacement - Instrument Panel .

  30. Install the left front floor air outlet duct (2) and reconnect the lower left duct air temperature sensor wiring. Refer to Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side .

  31. Install the left and right instrument panel outer trim cover (1). Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement
