Installation Procedure

  1. Position the front lower control front link (1) in the drivetrain and front suspension frame (2).

    NOTE:

    Ensure the original offset hole position noted during removal is aligned when installing the caster control washer.

  3. Position either the fir tree clip (3) and plate with captive nut (6) or retaining nut (4) and offset washer (5) to the drivetrain and front suspension frame.
  4. CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

  5. Install the NEW front lower control front link bolt (2) and tighten it until the fastener is snug and the front lower control front link does not shift, but do NOT tighten it completely.

  7. Connect the front lower control front link (1) to the steering knuckle (2).
  8. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  9. Install the NEW front lower control front link nut (3) and tighten to:

    Tighten

    1. First Pass: 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
    2. Final Pass: (115-125 degrees)
  10. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  11. Lower the vehicle until it is resting fully on the ground.
  12. Bounce the vehicle several times to settle the front suspension.
  13. Measure and adjust the wheel alignment. Wheel Alignment Measurement

  15. After the wheel alignment has been performed, tighten the NEW front lower control front link bolt (1) to:

    Tighten

    1. First Pass: 60 N.m (44 lb ft)
    2. Final Pass: (110-130 degrees)
