Installation Procedure

  1. Position the front lower control rear link (3) in the drivetrain and front suspension frame (2).
  2. CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

  3. Install the NEW front lower control rear link bolt (1) and tighten it until the fastener is snug and the front lower control rear link does not shift, but do NOT tighten it completely.

  5. Connect the front lower control rear link (1) to the steering knuckle (3).
  6. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  7. Install the NEW front lower control rear link nut (2) and tighten to:

    Tighten

    1. First Pass: 150 N.m (111 lb ft)
    2. Second Pass: Loosen 180 degrees
    3. Third Pass: 55 N.m (41 lb ft)
    4. Final Pass: (25-35 degrees)
  8. If equipped, connect the electronic suspension front position sensor link to the front lower control rear link. Electronic Suspension Front Position Sensor Replacement
  9. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  10. Lower the vehicle until it is resting fully on the ground.
  11. Bounce the vehicle several times to settle the front suspension.

  13. Tighten the NEW front lower control rear link bolt (1) to:

    Tighten

    1. First Pass: 60 N.m (44 lb ft)
    2. Final Pass: (110-130 degrees)
