Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  3. If equipped, disconnect the electronic suspension front position sensor link from the front lower control rear link. Electronic Suspension Front Position Sensor Replacement

  5. Remove the front lower control rear link nut (1).

    DISCARD the nut.

    NOTE:

    Once a load is applied by the ball joint release tool loading bolt, a quick tap on the nut end of the tool will reduce the separating force required.

  7. Use the CH-49405  ball joint tool (2) to separate the front lower control rear link (1) from the steering knuckle (3).

  9. Remove the front lower control rear link bolt (1).

    DISCARD the bolt.

  10. Remove the front lower control rear link (3) from the drivetrain and front suspension frame (2).
