Circuit/System Description
When the vehicle does not have power door locks, it will be provided with a Liftgate Unlatch Switch to lock or unlock the liftgate. The body control module (BCM) monitors the voltage level of the liftgate lock and liftgate unlock signal circuits. When the Liftgate Unlatch Switch is in the open position, the voltage level in the signal circuit will be near 0 V. When the Liftgate Unlatch Switch is pressed to the lock or unlock position, a signal will be sent to the BCM requesting a lock or unlock. command. When the liftgate lock actuator is not active, both lock and unlock control circuits are supplied a floating voltage by the BCM. Transitioning of the liftgate lock actuator to the lock or unlocked position depends upon which control circuits receive voltage and which control circuits receive ground
