Removal Procedure
- Remove Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement
- Remove the steering linkage inner tie rod nut (1).
- Remove the steering gear boot outer clamp (2).
- Loosen the steering gear boot inner clamp (1).
- Remove the steering gear boot (1).
- Remove the steering gear boot inner clamp (2).
DISCARD the clamp.
- After removing the steering gear boot, inspect the steering linkage inner tie rod for evidence of corrosion or contamination.If corrosion or contamination is evident, replace the steering gear. Steering Linkage Inner Tie Rod Replacement
NOTE:
Place match marks on the steering linkage inner tie rod nut and the steering linkage inner tie rod.
