Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2015 GMC Yukon XL, 2015 GMC Yukon, 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2015 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2015 Cadillac Escalade ESV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. With the aid of an assistant, maneuver the differential carrier so that the wheel drive shafts can be installed.

  3. Install the differential carrier assembly (1).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install the right side mounting nuts and washers (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the mounting nuts to 100 N.m (75 lb ft).

  7. Install the left side mounting bolts (1) for the differential carrier.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the mounting nuts to 100 N.m (75 lb ft).

  8. Remove the transmission jack stand.
  9. Install the propeller shaft. Refer to Front Axle Propeller Shaft Replacement (NP0)Front Axle Propeller Shaft Replacement (NQH) .

  11. Install the wheel drive shaft mounting bolts (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the mounting bolts to 79 N.m (58 lb ft).

  13. Install the differential carrier vent hose (1).

  15. Install the wiring harness on the differential carrier (1 and 2), if needed.

  17. Install the electrical connector (1) to the actuator motor, if needed.
  18. Install the lower control arm crossmember. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement .
  19. Fill the differential carrier. Refer to Front Axle Lubricant Replacement .
  20. Install the steering gear. Refer to Electric Belt Drive Rack and Pinion Steering Gear Replacement .
