Condition  Some customers may comment on a Reduced Propulsion message with a MIL on.
During diagnosis a technician may find DTC P0A40 set current or history.
Technicians will need to look over Freeze Frame data for DTC P0A40 only and compare Values in following parameter box.
Cause  Ongoing review by Engineering and TAC

CORRECTION

1. Check if the following freeze frame parameters for DTC P0A40 match the values in the table below. If there are other DTCs present, only reference the freeze frame data for P0A40.

Parameter Name Control Module Value Unit
Vehicle Speed Sensor Hybrid Powertrain Control Module 0 km/h
Ignition 1 Signal Hybrid Powertrain Control Module less than 1 V
Hybrid/EV Powertrain Control Module Response Source Hybrid Powertrain Control Module Ignition Switch Start
Transmission OSS Hybrid Powertrain Control Module 0 RPM
Internal Mode Switch Hybrid Powertrain Control Module Park
Hybrid/EV Powertrain Control Module High Voltage Circuit Hybrid Powertrain Control Module less than 10 V
Power Mode Hybrid Powertrain Control Module Off
Ignition Input Accessory Hybrid Powertrain Control Module Active
Ignition Input Off/On/Start Hybrid Powertrain Control Module Inactive
Axle Torque Command Hybrid Powertrain Control Module 0 N.m
Drive Motor Control Module Negative Supply Isolation Voltage Hybrid Powertrain Control Module less than 10 V
Drive Motor Control Module Positive Supply Isolation Voltage Hybrid Powertrain Control Module less than 10 V
  1. Clear DTCs
  2. Key cycle the vehicle 5 times ( including open and closing the drivers door in between the key cycles)
  3. Check DTCs and verify that P0A40 did not set.
  4. Test drive vehicle for 10 miles and verify P0A40 did not set.

If above data match and drive cycles do not bring the code back, then release the vehicle back to the customer due to calibration miss-match that engineering is aware of at this time.

If the code comes back or the data does not match then contact GM TAC (1-800-446-8227) for further repair direction.
