Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining 
    WARNING:

    Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning .

    WARNING:

    Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .

  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Disconnect Fuel Tank Filler Vent Hose - Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  4. Remove Fuel Tank Filler Hose Clamp
  5. Remove Fuel Tank Filler Hose
  6. Disconnect Auxiliary Fuel Feed and Return Pipe - Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  7. Disconnect Fuel Feed Pipe - Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  8. Disconnect Fuel Return Pipe - Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  9. Place a suitable adjustable jack under the fuel tank.

  10. Use a suitable strap to strap fuel tank to jack.
  11. Remove Fuel Tank Strap Bolt [2x]
  12. Remove Fuel Tank Strap [2x]
  13. Partially lower the fuel tank to disconnect the fuel tank fuel pump module connector.
  14. Remove Fuel Tank

  15. If replacing fuel tank transfer parts as necessary.
