Installation Procedure

  1. Install Nitrogen Oxides Sensor and tighten 50 N.m. (37 lb ft)

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

    NOTE:

    If reinstalling the old sensor, coat the threads with anti-sieze compound. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  2. Install Engine Cover - Refer to Engine Cover Replacement
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  4. Install Nitrogen Oxides Sensor Cable @ Nitrogen Oxides Sensor Cable Clip [2x]

  5. Nitrogen Oxides Sensor - Move into position

  6. Install Nitrogen Oxides Sensor Bolt [2x] and tighten 10.5 N.m. (93 lb in)
    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  7. Connect Electrical Connector @ Nitrogen Oxides Sensor
  8. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
  9. If replacing, perform the NOx sensor 1 reset. Refer to NOx Sensor 1 Reset 
  10. If replacing, perform the NOx catalyst reductant loading reset. Refer to NOx Catalyst Reductant Loading Reset 
  11. Perform the diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration enable. Refer to Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration Enable
