Installation Procedure

  1. GM2906694

    Install a NEW water outlet seal (2).

  2. Install water outlet (1).
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install 3 water outlet bolts (3) and tighten to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

    Install the radiator inlet hose (1) to the water outlet (3).

  5. Close the retainer spring (2) from radiator inlet hose connector.

    Lock the quick fitting (3).

  7. Install the heater outlet hose (4) to the water outlet housing (1).
  8. Install the heater inlet hose to water outlet housing. Refer to Heater Inlet Hose Replacement .

    Install the coolant air bleed hose (1) to the water outlet housing (4).

  10. GM3213220

    Connect the intake camshaft sensor wiring harness plug (3).

  11. Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor wiring harness plug (2).
  12. Connect the exhaust camshaft sensor wiring harness plug (1).
  13. Clip in the 2 wiring harness retainer clips (4) to the 2 retainer brackets.

    NOTE:

    Ensure that the retainer clip (arrow) is engaged.

    Install the electronic control module (1) to the battery tray.

  15. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  16. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
