Installation Procedure

  1. Install the electronic parking brake control module and bracket assembly.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Install the upper electronic parking brake control module bracket bolts (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  3. Install the lower electronic parking brake control module bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

    NOTE:

    When installing the rear intermediate parking brake cable nut, hold the electronic parking brake control module spindle housing securely to avoid distorting the housing.

  4. Install the rear intermediate parking brake cable nut (1) and tighten to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
  5. Connect the electronic parking brake control module electrical connector.
  6. Install the spare tire and wheel assembly, if removed.
  7. Enable the parking brake cable adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling (With J71) .
  8. Program the electronic parking brake control module. Refer to Control Module References .
