Removal Procedure

  1. Block the drive wheels.
  2. Disable the parking brake cable adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling (With J71) .
  3. Place the ignition in the OFF position.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  5. On standard wheelbase vehicles, remove the spare tire and wheel assembly.
  6. Disconnect the electronic parking brake control module electrical connector.

  7. Remove the rear intermediate parking brake cable nut (1).

  8. Remove the lower electronic parking brake control module bracket bolt (1).

  9. Remove the upper electronic parking brake control module bracket bolts (1).
  10. Remove the electronic parking brake control module and bracket assembly.
