Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B24 Cellular Phone Microphone and disconnect the X2 harness connector at the A11 Radio, ignition ON.
  2. Test for less than 1 V between each B24 Cellular Phone Microphone harness connector terminal listed below and ground:
    • Signal circuit terminal 1
    • Signal circuit terminal 2
    • 5 V circuit terminal 4
    • If 1 V or greater

Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If less than 1 V
  3. Test for infinite resistance between each B24 Cellular Phone Microphone harness connector terminal listed below and ground:
    • Signal circuit terminal 1
    • Signal circuit terminal 2
    • 5 V circuit terminal 4
    • If less than infinite resistance

Repair the short to ground on the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
  4. Test for less than 2 Ω between each harness connector terminal listed below end to end.
    • B24 Cellular Phone Microphone - terminal 1 and A11 Radio terminal 14 X2
    • B24 Cellular Phone Microphone - terminal 2 and A11 Radio terminal 16 X2
    • B24 Cellular Phone Microphone - terminal 4 and A11 Radio terminal 15 X2
    • If 5 Ω or greater

Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If less than 5 Ω
  5. Replace the B24 Cellular Phone Microphone. Connect all harness connectors.
  6. Begin voice recognition for the radio and clearly speak one of the available commands.
  7. Verify the infotainment system responds correctly to the command.
    • If the infotainment system does not respond correctly to the command.

      Replace the A11 Radio.

    • Go to next step: If the infotainment system responds correctly to the command.
  8. All OK.
