Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector:X1 @ A98 Front Overhead Console Assembly
- Test for less than 10 ohms between the test points:Ground circuit terminal 5 & Ground
- If 10 ohms or greater
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points:Ground circuit terminal 5 & The other end of the circuit
- If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 ohms - Repair the open/high resistance in the ground connection.
- Go to next step: If less than 10 ohms
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Test for 8 to 10.5 V between the test points:10 V Reference circuit terminal 16 & Ground circuit terminal 5
- If less than 8 V
- Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector:X1 @ K73 Telematics Communication Interface Control Module
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points:10 V Reference circuit terminal 16 @ A98 Front Overhead Console Assembly & Ground
- If less than infinite resistance - Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points:10 V Reference circuit terminal 16 & The other end of the circuit
- If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 ohms - Replace the component:K73 Telematics Communication Interface Control Module
- If greater than 10.5 V
- Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector:X1 @ K73 Telematics Communication Interface Control Module
- Test for less than 1 V between the test points:10 V Reference circuit terminal 16 @ A98 Front Overhead Console Assembly & Ground
- If 1 V or greater - Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V - Replace the component:K73 Telematics Communication Interface Control Module
- Go to next step: If between 8 and 10.5 V
- Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
- Test for 500 to 900 ohms between the test points:Signal circuit terminal 17 & Ground circuit terminal 5
- If less than 500 ohms
- Disconnect the electrical connector:X1 @ K73 Telematics Communication Interface Control Module
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points:Signal circuit terminal 17 & Ground
- If less than infinite resistance - Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance - Replace the component:K73 Telematics Communication Interface Control Module
- If greater than 900 ohms
