Circuit/System Verification
- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify DTC C0277, C0890 is not set.
- If DTC C0277, C0890 is set
Refer to: DTC C0277, C0890
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- If DTC C0277, C0890 is set
- Verify the following conditions do not exist: Brake Pedal Position Sensor-or-Brake Pedal = Binding Sticking - The stop lamps, also known as brake lamps, are activated when the driver applies the vehicle's brakes.
- If a condition exists
Repair replace the components as necessary.
- Go to next step: If no condition exists
- If a condition exists
- Operate the component: Brake Applied & Brake Pedal Not Applied
- Verify the scan tool parameter: Brake Pedal Position Sensor = Active & Inactive
- If the component does not work as specified

- Go to next step: If the component works as specified
- If the component does not work as specified
- All OK.
