Circuit/System Testing

C1178 12

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K60 Column Lock Module, ignition ON.
  2. NOTE:

Circuit 807 and 1603 are in-line of each other between the KR73 Ignition Main Relay and the K60 Column Lock Module. See Power Moding Wiring Schematics for additional information.

  3. Test for less than 1 V between the ignition circuit terminal 8 and ground.
    • If 1 V or greater

Repair the short to voltage on circuit 807 or 1603.

    • Go to next step: If less than 1 V
  4. Replace the K60 Column Lock Module.

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K60 Column Lock Module.
  2. NOTE:

Circuit 807 and 1603 are in-line of each other between the KR73 Ignition Main Relay and the K60 Column Lock Module. See Power Moding Wiring Schematics for additional information.

  3. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal 8 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not turn illuminate and the circuit fuse is OK
    1. Test circuit 807 and 1603 for an open/high resistance.
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found.
    2. Verify the fuse is OK and there is voltage at the fuse. Refer to Power Mode Mismatch .
    • If the test lamp does not turn On and the circuit fuse is open
    1. Test circuit 807 and 1603 for a short to ground.
      • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
    2. Replace the K60 Column Lock Module.
    • Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
  4. Replace the K60 Column Lock Module.
