Circuit/System Testing
C1178 12
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K60 Column Lock Module, ignition ON.
- Test for less than 1 V between the ignition circuit terminal 8 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater
Repair the short to voltage on circuit 807 or 1603.
- Go to next step: If less than 1 V
- If 1 V or greater
- Replace the K60 Column Lock Module.
NOTE:
Circuit 807 and 1603 are in-line of each other between the KR73 Ignition Main Relay and the K60 Column Lock Module. See Power Moding Wiring Schematics for additional information.

- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K60 Column Lock Module.
- Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal 8 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not turn illuminate and the circuit fuse is OK
- Test circuit 807 and 1603 for an open/high resistance.
- If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found.
- Verify the fuse is OK and there is voltage at the fuse. Refer to Power Mode Mismatch .
- If the test lamp does not turn On and the circuit fuse is open
- Test circuit 807 and 1603 for a short to ground.
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
- Replace the K60 Column Lock Module.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Replace the K60 Column Lock Module.
