Installation Procedure
- Prepare fender bracket per installation requirements.
- Position fender bracket (1) to vehicle using 3-dimensional measuring equipment.
- Drill 6.7 mm (17/64") hole (1) through fender bracket for rivet installation. [5x]
- Remove fender bracket (1) from the vehicle.
- Clean and prepare fender bracket and vehicle for adhesive according to adhesive manufacturer's recommendations. METAL PANEL BONDING
- Apply structural adhesive (1) on the mating surfaces of fender bracket and vehicle according to adhesive manufacturer's recommendations. METAL PANEL BONDING
- Install fender bracket (1) to vehicle and clamp into place.
- Install rivets (1) in fender bracket. [SR1 5x] Fastener Specifications
- Apply the sealers and anti-corrosion materials to the repair area as necessary. Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair
- Paint the repaired area. Basecoat/Clearcoat Paint Systems .
- Install all related panels and components.
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (9C1, 5W4)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
- Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling .
NOTE:
Prepare fender bracket before installation.
NOTE:
Temporarily install the fender bracket for proper fit.
NOTE:
Use 6.7 mm (17/64") holes for rivet installation.
NOTE:
Only remove E-coat where adhesive will be applied.
NOTE:
Before refinishing, refer to Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair
