Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling
Insert a 457 mm (18 in) prybar next to the inboard side of each wire loop and push down, using the floor as leverage, to disengage the retainers.
- Pull up on the front of the seat cushion and lift out of the vehicle.
- Rear Seat Cushion (1) - Remove
Fold the rear seat back to the downward position.
- Access the rear seat back bolster retainer lock (1) through a slot in the upper portion of the bolster.
- Slide the rear seat back bolster retainer lock (1) toward the front of the vehicle.
Rear Seat Back Bolster Nut (1) - Remove
- Squeeze the rear seat back bolster retainer to release it.
- Rear Seat Back Bolster (2) - Remove
Remove the lower rear seat belt retractor bolt (1) on the side of the trim panel being replaced.
- Feed the rear seat belt retractor belt through the bezel opening in the quarter upper trim panel.
Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool to remove the quarter window trim finish panel bolt cap (1).
- Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt (2) - Remove
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Quarter Upper Trim Panel (3) - Remove
- Disconnect the defrost tab electrical connectors.
Insert a suitable flat-bladed plastic trim tool between the parameter of the high mount stop lamp opening cover (1) and headlining trim panel (2).
- Separate the high mount stop lamp opening cover (1) from the headlining trim panel (2).
Pull downward to release the retaining tabs.
- High Mount Stop Lamp Opening Cover (1) - Remove
High Mount Stop Lamp Bolt (1) - Remove [ 2x ]
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
Release the retaining tabs and separate the high mount stop lamp (1) from the headlining trim panel (2).
Slide the high mount stop lamp (1) rearward to disengage.
- High Mount Stop Lamp (1) - Remove
- Apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces.
- Cover the seats and carpeting to protect from broken glass.
- NOTE:
Keep the cutting edge of the tool against the rear window. This will allow the urethane adhesive to be separated from the window.
Use BO-24402 - A Glass Sealant Remover (1)or equivalent in order to remove the window.
- Leave a base of urethane on the pinchweld flange.
- The only suitable lubrication is clear water.
With an assistant, remove the locator pins (1) and rear window (2) from the vehicle.
- Transfer components as necessary.

If reusing the rear window, use care when disconnecting the defrost tabs to not twist or pull excessively which may cause the defrost tab to separate from the rear window.
