Circuit/System Verification

  1. Verify there are no related DTCs set in the following system:Stop Lamps
    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  2. Test or inspect for the following:Brake Pedal=Binding or Sticking

    Refer to:Brake System Slow Release

  3. Perform the scan tool control function: Brake Master Cylinder Pressure Test
    • If the procedure/test passes 
    1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off - For greater than 5 min
    2. Ignition/Vehicle - On - For greater than 60 s - Brake Pedal Not Applied
    3. Apply and hold the brake pedal.to half stroke - For greater than 2 s
    4. Slowly release the brake pedal.
    5. Verify DTC C05D0 is not set.
      • If the DTC sets

        Replace the component:A104 Brake Master Cylinder

      • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
    6. All OK.
    • Go to next step: If the procedure/test does not pass 
  4. Bleed the brake system.Refer to:Automated Brake Bleed
  5. Perform the scan tool control function:Brake Hydraulics Test
    • If the procedure/test does not pass 
  6. Replace the component:A104 Brake Master Cylinder
    • Go to next step: If the procedure/test passes 
  7. Ignition/Vehicle - Off - For greater than 5 min
  8. Ignition/Vehicle - On - For greater than 60 s - Brake Pedal Not Applied
  9. Apply and hold the brake pedal.to half stroke - For greater than 2 s
  10. Slowly release the brake pedal.
  11. Verify DTC C05D0 is not set.
    • If the DTC sets 

      Replace the component:A104 Brake Master Cylinder

    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  12. All OK.
