Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Cadillac CT4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF/Vehicle OFF and all vehicle systems OFF, disconnect the connector at the appropriate X80 Accessory Power Receptacle. It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down.
- Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal C and ground.
- If greater than 10 Ω
Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1450 or ground connection.
- Go to next step: If less than 10 Ω
- If greater than 10 Ω
- Ignition ON/Vehicle in Service Mode.
- Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the control circuit terminal A and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the fuse/circuit breaker is good
- Test the appropriate circuit for an open/high resistance:
- X80H Accessory Power Receptacle - Floor Console Front = Circuit 1001
- X80L Front Floor Console Accessory Power Rear Receptacle = Circuit 1301
- If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- If an open/high resistance is not found, verify the fuse/circuit breaker is not open and there is voltage at the fuse/circuit breaker. Refer to Retained Accessory Power Malfunction .
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the fuse/circuit breaker is open
- Test the appropriate circuit for a short to ground:
- X80H Accessory Power Receptacle - Floor Console Front = Circuit 1001
- X80L Front Floor Console Accessory Power Rear Receptacle = Circuit 1301
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
- Replace the appropriate X80 Accessory Power Receptacle.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Replace the appropriate X80 Accessory Power Receptacle.
