Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

    With a flat bladed plastic trim tool, start at the front and work your way back to release the clips.

  3. Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover - Right Side (1) - Remove
  4. Disconnect electrical connections, if applicable.

    Body Control Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove

  6. Unlock and lower the body control module bracket (2).
  7. Disconnect and reposition harness as necessary.

    Instrument Panel Insulator Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  9. NOTE:

    Use a plastic trim tool if necessary.

  10. Release the tab from the instrument panel lower trim panel insulator.

    Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator (1) - Remove

  12. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Instrument Panel Lower Airbag Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

  14. Instrument Panel Lower Airbag - Passenger Side (2) - Remove
  15. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Instrument Panel Compartment Bolt (1) - Remove [5x]

    Instrument Panel Compartment (1) - Remove

  18. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    NOTE:

    Ensure the instrument panel compartment dampener tab is set aside for ease of installation.

    With the instrument panel compartment door (1) open, use a suitable flat bladed plastic trim tool to release the instrument panel compartment dampener tab (2).

    Squeeze the outer edges of the instrument panel compartment door (1) to release and allow for additional access.

    Rotate the instrument panel compartment lamp (1) a quarter turn counter clockwise to release.

  22. NOTE:

    Observe the mounting and location of the wiring harness to ensure proper reinstallation.

  23. Release the wiring harness from the upper retaining tab.

    Release the wiring harness from the side and rear retaining tabs.

  25. Release the retaining tabs at the rear of the instrument panel compartment lamp (1).
