Installation Procedure

  1. Transfer components as necessary.

    Position the fuel injection fuel rail assembly (1) into the cylinder head as evenly as possible.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    To install the fuel injection fuel rail bolts (1), perform the following steps:

    1. First Pass: Start ALL bolts by hand, but do NOT tighten.
    2. Second Pass: Tighten the outer two bolts by hand.
    3. Third Pass: Tighten the inner two bolts by hand.
    4. Final Pass: 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  4. Fuel Feed Pipe @ Engine - Install NEW - Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (AWD) , or Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (FWD) , or Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (AWD/FWD, At Engine)

    Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (1).

  6. Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe - Install NEW - Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement 
  7. Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
    1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
  8. Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield- Upper - Install - Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement (Upper) , or Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement (Lower)
