Installation Procedure
- Drop the handle bracket to the inside door opening to reset the counter balance.
- NOTE:
The front side door outside handle can not be installed until the counter balance is reset.
Reset the front side door outside handle bracket counter balance as follows:
- Grasp the front side door outside handle bracket (1) with one hand.
- From the back side of the counter balance (2) push forward on the counter balance until it can be held in place using the bracket clip (3).
Install the front part of the front side door outside handle (1) into the front side door outside handle bracket.
Install the rear part of the front side door outside handle (1) into the front side door outside handle bracket and slide the front side door outside handle forward.
Connect the electrical connector. (1)
Pull the front side door outside handle (1) outwards to the open position.
Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Bezel (1) - Install
Place the front side door outside handle (1) in the closed position.
Front Side Door Lock Cover Bolt (2) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Front Side Door Access Hole Plug (1) - Install
Front Side Door Window Channel Retainer (2) - Install
- Front Side Door Window Channel Retainer Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [ 2x ] - Fastener Specifications
Position the rear section of the front side door window regulator (2) to the original location.
- Ensure the front side door window is properly seated in the window retainers.
- Front Side Door Window Regulator Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [ 2x ] - Fastener Specifications
- Remove the tape holding the window to the upper door frame, removing any leftover residue with a clean towel and 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water.
- NOTE:
When reinstalling the water deflector, ensure the integral locators are installed properly and that the water deflector is secured and leakproof.
Route front side door inside handle cable through the hole in the front side door water deflector.

- Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
When installing the water deflector, ensure that the water deflector is securely fastened to the door inner before installing the door trim. An improper seal of the water deflector against the door inner may affect the ability of the front door pressure sensor to detect a side collision. This may result in improper airbag deployment and could cause bodily injury.
