Removal Procedure
WARNING:
WARNING:
- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Drain the fuel tank. Fuel Tank Draining
- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- Remove the right rear tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- Rear Wheelhouse Liner- Right Side - Remove - Rear Wheelhouse Liner Replacement
Evaporative Emission Canister Air Inlet Hose (1) @ Rear Wheelhouse Panel Bracket (2) - Separate
Release the retaining tab to separate the evaporative emission canister air inlet hose.
Retainer (1) - Release [3x]
- Exhaust Rear Muffler @ Vehicle - Remove - Exhaust Rear Muffler Replacement (FWD with L3T) , or Exhaust Rear Muffler Replacement (AWD with L3T) , or Exhaust Rear Muffler Replacement (FWD with LIH)
Wiring Harness (1) - Disconnect [2x]
- Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Release [2x]
Fuel Tank Filler Hose Clamp (1) @ Fuel Tank Filler Hose - Loosen
- Fuel Tank Filler Hose (2) @ Fuel Tank - Disconnect
- Fuel Tank Vapor Pipe (3) @ Fuel Tank Filler Pipe - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Fuel Feed Pipe-Fuel Tank (1) @ Fuel Feed Pipe-Underbody - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Evaporative Emission Pipe-Fuel Tank (2) @ Evaporative Emission Pipe-Underbody - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Place a suitable adjustable jack under the fuel tank.
- Fuel Tank Strap Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]
- Fuel Tank Strap (2) - Remove [2x]
Fuel Tank (1) - Remove
- Transfer components as necessary.
