Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the appropriate electrical connector:
- X2 @ X98 Battery Charger Coupler
- X2 @ K16 Battery Energy Control Module
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points:
- Control circuit terminal 12 @ Component harness & Ground - With K28/K20
- Control circuit terminal 13 @ Component harness & Ground - With K28/K20
- Control circuit terminal 13 @ Component harness & Ground - With K2W
- Control circuit terminal 14 @ Component harness & Ground - With K2W
- The appropriate Control circuit terminal @ Component harness & The other appropriate Control circuit terminal
- If less than infinite resistance
Repair the short between the circuits or Repair short to ground on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points:
- The appropriate control circuit terminal @ Component harness & Terminal X2-17 @ Control module harness
- The appropriate control circuit terminal @ Component harness & Terminal X2-18 @ Control module harness
- If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 ohms - Replace the component: K16 Battery Energy Control Module
- Connect all previously disconnected components.
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify DTC P0D91 or P0D93 is not set
- If any of the DTCs are set
Replace the component: X98 Battery Charger Coupler
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- If any of the DTCs are set
- All OK.
