Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle: Jacking

When you are lifting a vehicle with a vehicle jack or a floor jack, block the wheels at the opposite end from which you are lifting. Use jack stands to provide additional support.

Under the Front Frame Rails

NOTE:

The floor jack pad must not contact rocker panel or the floor pan.

Position the floor jack pad (2) under the frame rail (1).

Under the Rear Frame Rail

Position the jack (2) under the flat portion of the rear stabilizer bar bracket (1).

Rear Crossmember

CAUTION:

DO NOT use the rear crossmember to jack or support the vehicle. The crossmember is a structural part of the vehicle frame and will become permanently distorted. Damage will occur to rear crossmember and frame, resulting in the frame being replaced.

DO NOT jack up the vehicle at rear crossmember (1). Damage will occur to rear crossmember and frame, resulting in the frame being replaced.
