Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a) , or Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)
  2. Remove the front bumper fascia. Front Bumper Fascia Removal and Installation (Base) , or Front Bumper Fascia Removal and Installation (Z71)

    Front Wheelhouse Liner- Right Side (3) - Remove - Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement

    Use a suitable tool to rotate the drive belt tensioner (1) counterclockwise to relieve tension from the accessory drive primary belt (2).

  5. Remove the accessory drive primary belt (2) from the pulleys and tensioner (1).
  6. Slowly release tension on the drive belt tensioner (1).
  7. Clean and inspect the drive belt surfaces of all the pulleys.

    Front Compartment Side Rail Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  9. Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace (2) - Remove

    Underbody Front Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Remove [10x]

  11. Underbody Front Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Remove [2x]

    Underbody Front Air Deflector (1) - Remove

    Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Nut (1) @ Air Conditioning Compressor - Remove

  14. Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose (2) @ Air Conditioning Compressor - Remove
  15. Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Seal - Small (3) - Remove and DISCARD
  16. Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Seal - Large (4) - Remove and DISCARD
  17. Disconnect all electrical connectors.

    Air Conditioning Compressor Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

  19. Air Conditioning Compressor Bolt (2) - Remove
  20. Remove the air conditioning compressor (3) from the vehicle.

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

  22. Engine Oil Temperature Sensor (1) - Remove
