Installation Procedure
- CAUTION:
Engine Oil Pressure Sensor (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Connect the electrical connector.
Intake Manifold Seal (4) - Install NEW [3x]
- Intake Manifold (2) - Install
Intake Manifold Bolt (1) - Install [4x]
- Intake Manifold Bolt (1) - Tighten in sequence [4x] - Fastener Specifications
Intake Air Pressure and Temperature Sensor Connector (1) - Connect
Fuel Pump Cover (2) - Install
- Fuel Pump Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten Fastener Specifications [3x]
Ground Cable (2) - Install
- Stud (1) - Install and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in)
Retainer (1) - Connect [5x]
Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump (3) - Install
- Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump Bolt (2) Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Install
- Connect the electrical connector.
Turbocharger Wastegate Regulator Solenoid Valve (2) - Install
- Turbocharger Wastegate Regulator Solenoid Valve Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Tank Solenoid Valve Tube (2) - Install
- Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve Hose (1) - Install
- Electrical Connector (3) - Connect
Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve Filter Hose (4) - Install
- Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve Filter Hose (4) @ Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve (1) - Connect
Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (1) - Install
Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (1) @ Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump (2) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (1) @ Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve (2) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube Clip (1) - Install [3x]
Engine Wiring Harness (2) - Install
- Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Secure [2x]
Evaporative Emission Pipe-Underbody (1) - Install
- Evaporative Emission Pipe-Underbody (1) @ Retainer (2) - Install [3x]
Evaporative Emission Pipe-Underbody (1) @ Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump (2) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Fuel Feed Front Pipe (1) @ Fuel Pump (2) - Connect - Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose @ Turbocharger Assembly - Install
- Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose Retainer Spring (1) - Engage
Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose Clamp Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
Clip (2) - Install [2x]
- Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Install [3x]
Air Cleaner Assembly (1) - Install
Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct (2) @ Air Cleaner Assembly (3) - Install
- Air Cleaner Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications
Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Install
- Electrical Connector (1) - Connect
Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve Filter Hose (1) @ Air Cleaner Assembly (2) - Install
Intake Air Duct (1) - Install
Intake Air Duct Retainer (1) - Install [2x]
Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct (1) - Install
Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (2) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Air Cleaner Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Raise the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
Throttle Body (4) - Install
- Throttle Body Seal (3) - Install NEW [2x]
- Throttle Body Adapter (2) - Install
- Throttle Body Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
- Connect the electrical connectors.
Check the rubber seal (1) is inside the outlet air hose.
Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose (1) - Install
Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Retainer Spring (1) - Engage
- NOTE:
DO NOT insert fingers inside quick connect to manipulate duct during disassembly/assembly. Rubber pad gloves increase risk to dislodge seal.
Position charge air cooler outlet air tube (2) perpendicular to charge air cooler and install.
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose (2) - Install
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Retainer Spring (1) - Engage
- Verify connection is properly made by pulling and pushing on the duct at the quick connector location.
Front Compartment Splash Shield (3) - Install
- Front Compartment Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
- Front Compartment Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications
- Perform the intake system learned values reset. Intake System Learned Values Reset
- Perform the throttle body idle air flow compensation reset procedure. Throttle Body Idle Air Flow Compensation Reset
Check that the locating pins (1, 3) sit correct in their hole.
Verify the charge air cooler inlet and outlet air tube quick connect seal condition and location prior to installation. Seal must be evenly seated in the quick connector body and sealing surface must be free of deformation and damage. Deformed or damaged seals can lead to reduced engine power and/or engine stalling.
