Wear Check

Remove valve springs and install suitable sleeve tool (C-3973) over valve stem and install valve in guide. Attach dial indicator to cylinder head and set it at right angle to valve stem being measured. Total side play should not exceed 0.017" (0.43 mm). If dial reading is excessive or stems are scuffed or scored, ream guides for installation of valves with oversize stems.
