Warm Dr8 - EGR System

Connect a tachometer to engine. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Open sub EGR valve with your fingers. Engine speed should not drop. If engine speed is okay, proceed to WARM DR9.

If engine speed dropped in step 1), remove vacuum hose (leading to carburetor) at secondary EGR valve. Connect vacuum gauge to hose. Gauge should indicate 0-2 in. Hg. If vacuum is okay, replace EGR valve.

If vacuum was greater than 2 in. Hg, the throttle blade is open too far. Check basic timing and curb idle speed.
