Wipers Do Not Stop With Switch In DELAY Position

  1. Disconnect Black 25-pin connector from body computer located behind right front kick panel. Move delay control switch to maximum DELAY position. Connect positive voltmeter lead to pin No. 9 of body computer harness connector and negative lead to metal case of body computer.
  2. If voltmeter reads zero volts, check wiper switch and wiring for open circuit. If voltmeter reads 10-15 volts, connect positive lead to pin No. 22 of body computer harness. Connect negative lead to good ground. If voltmeter reads zero volts, check fuses and wiring for open circuit.
  3. If voltmeter reads 10-15 volts, reconnect body computer connector. Connect positive voltmeter lead to pin No. 24 of body computer connector and negative lead to metal case of body computer. Disconnect wiring harness from wiper motor. Set delay control to maximum delay mode.
  4. If voltmeter reads zero volts, check wiring from intermittent wiper switch to body computer for open circuit. If voltmeter reads 10-15 volts, connect voltmeter to pin "R" of intermittent wiper switch. Move intermittent wiper switch to maximum DELAY position. If voltmeter reads zero volts, replace intermittent wiper switch.
  5. If voltmeter reads 10-15 volts, check wiring harness from intermittent wiper switch to wiper motor for an open circuit. If all tests above have been performed and problem was not found, replace body computer.
