TEST 47A - Key In Ignition
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagrams, see appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS Section.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Open left front door. Using DRB-II, read key in switch status. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, perform TEST 47B. If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect key in ignition connector. See Figure. Connect a jumper wire between terminals No. 1 (Black wire) and No. 2 (Light Blue wire) of key in ignition connector.
- If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, replace key in ignition switch. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, disconnect jumper wire. Connect jumper wire between terminal No. 2 (Light Blue wire) of key in ignition connector and ground.
- If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, repair open in Black wire between key in ignition connector and ground. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, disconnect body controller Black connector. Body controller is located behind right side kick panel. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary.
- Reconnect body controller Black connector. Connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 2 (Light Blue wire) at wiring harness side of body controller Black connector and ground. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, repair open Light Blue wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, replace body controller. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .
