Test 89A - Power Door Lock Signal

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at end of article.
  1. Turn ignition on (engine off), then off. Remove key from ignition switch. Lock door(s) using power door lock switch. If doors did not lock, go to TEST 2A.
  2. If doors locked, disconnect Vehicle Theft Alarm (VTA) module. See Figure . Using DRB-II, actuate power door lock test. While door lock test is running, put DRB-II in voltmeter mode and check voltage on terminal No. 17 (Orange/White wire) of VTA module connector.
  3. If voltage is not pulsing between zero and 12 volts, repair open Orange/White wire between VTA module and power door lock relay. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If voltage is pulsing between zero and 12 volts, replace VTA module. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
