Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: Removal
- Remove rear seat. Lift side insulation and unplug connector from harness. See Figure. Raise vehicle and remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove sensor assembly bushing from underbody, and pull harness through hole in underbody. Remove sensor bushing screw from brake hose bracket, forward of trailing arm bushing.
- Remove sensor assembly clip located on inboard side of trailing arm. Remove sensor wire fastener from rear brake hose bracket. Remove outboard sensor assembly retainer nut.
- Remove sensor head screw. Carefully remove sensor. If sensor is frozen, use a hammer and punch to lightly tap edge of sensor ear, rocking sensor from side to side until free. DO NOT use pliers.
CAUTION:
Proper installation of wheel speed sensor cables is critical to continued operation of system. Ensure cables are installed in retainers. Failure to install cables in retainers may cause contact with moving parts and/or over-extension of cables, resulting in open circuit.
