Test 35K - Diagnosing Automatic Speed Sensitive Door Locks

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Using DRB, read Automatic (AUTO) door lock status. If DRB does not display AUTO DOOR LOCKS ARE ENABLE, use DRB to enable door locks. If DRB displays AUTO DOOR LOCKS ARE ENABLED, ensure all doors are close. Go to next step.
  2. Using DRB, read left front door ajar status. If DRB displays DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to TEST 44A  . If DRB does not display DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Using DRB, read door ajar status. If DRB displays DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to TEST 45A  . If DRB does not display DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using DRB, read ENGINE INFO. If TPS percentage does not increase as throttle is opened, see appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section below. If TPS percentage increases as throttle is opened, go to next step.
  5. Raise and support vehicle. Ensure traction control is off (if equipped). Close all doors. Start engine and shift vehicle into Drive. Using DRB, read ENGINE INFO. If MPH does not increase as throttle is opened, see appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section below. If MPH increases as throttle is opened and doors lock, system is operating properly at this time. If doors do not lock, replace BCM.
