Test 5A - Chime Problem

  1. Turn ignition on (engine off). Using DRB-II, actuate chime test. If chime does not sound, replace Body Control Module (BCM). Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  2. If chime does sound, stop chime actuation test using DRB-II. Open left front (driver's) door. Using DRB-II, read left front door switch status. If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, go to TEST 14A.
  3. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, remove key from ignition switch. Using DRB-II, read key in ignition switch status. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, go to TEST 47A  .
  4. If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, turn ignition off (engine off). If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, go to TEST 47A. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, check turn signals for proper operation. If turn signals do not operate properly, see appropriate STEERING COLUMNS SWITCHES article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT Section.
  5. If turn signals operate properly, turn left turn signal on. Using DRB-II, read turn signal switch status. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT OPEN then CLOSED, check for faulty chime with lights on and go to TEST 42A  . If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT OPEN then CLOSED, go to TEST 58A  .
