Headlight Switch
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Chrysler LeBaron. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
All specified wire colors are those on mating connector.
- Remove headlight switch. Measure resistance between terminals "I" (Tan wire) and "R" (Black/Yellow wire) while rotating instrument light dimmer control. Resistance should change smoothly.
- With switch set to off position, check for continuity between terminals B2 (Red wire) and "R" (Black/Yellow wire). Continuity should not exist. Set switch in turn to park and headlight positions. Continuity should exist.
- With switch set to off position, check for continuity between terminal B2 (Red wire) and terminal for Yellow/Black wire. Continuity should not exist. Set switch to park and headlight positions. Continuity should exist, but resistance will be greater than zero ohms.
- With switch set to off position, check for continuity between terminal for Red/White wire and terminal for Light Green wire. Continuity should not exist. Set switch to headlight position. Continuity should exist.
- With switch set to off position, check for continuity between terminal for Red/White wire and terminal for Light Green/White wire. Continuity should not exist. Set switch in turn to park and headlight positions. Continuity should exist.
- With switch set to off position, check for continuity between terminal for Black/Light Blue and Light Blue wires. Continuity should not exist. Set switch to park and headlight positions. Continuity should exist.
- With switch set to dome light position, continuity should exist between terminals for Yellow and Black wires. Continuity should not exist with switch set to turn dome lights off.
