Test 16A: System Relay Circuit
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Using DRB, actuate ABS relay. If ANTI-LOCK light on instrument panel switches on and off, go to TEST 16C. If ANTI-LOCK light on instrument panel does not switch on and off, go to next step.
- Remove ABS relay. See Figure. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between ABS relay terminals No. 30 and 87. If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, replace ABS relay. Perform TEST VER-1A: SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST . If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms, go to next step.
- Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Using DRB, check voltage on Red/Light Blue wire at ABS relay connector. If reading is less than one volt, go to TEST 16B. If voltage is more than one volt, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect CAB 60-pin connector. Turn ignition on. Using DRB, check voltage on Red/Light Blue wire at ABS relay connector. If any voltage is present, repair short to power in Red/Light Blue wire. Perform TEST VER-1A: SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST . If voltage does not exist, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER-1A: SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
