Test 17A - Headlamp Out Message But Headlamps Operational

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect lamp outage module connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Start engine and observe EVIC panel. If EVIC panel does not display HEADLAMP OUT, replace lamp outage module. If EVIC panel displays HEADLAMP OUT, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect both Body Control Module (BCM) connectors. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Put DRB in ohmmeter mode. Measure resistance at BCM Natural connector terminal No. 7 (Orange/Light Green wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Orange/Light Green wire between BCM Natural connector and lamp outage module for short to ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM.
