Test 27B - All Brake Lamps Out
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION

. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Measure voltage at fuse No. 21 (Red/White wire). See Figure . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to step 4). If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Remove and inspect power distribution center headlamp system 40-amp fuse (second fuse from right below relays). See Figure . If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is open, go to TEST 27C.
- Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Measure voltage at power distribution center terminal No. 49, bottom terminal of headlamp fuse (Black wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair power distribution center. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open Red/White wire between power distribution center and fuse No. 21.
- If voltage is more than 10 volts in step 1), disconnect brake lamp switch connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Measure voltage at brake lamp switch connector terminal No. 5 (Pink/Dark Blue wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink/Dark Blue wire between brake lamp switch connector and fuse No. 21. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Connect jumper wire between brake lamp switch terminal No. 2 (White/Tan wire) and terminal No. 5 (Pink/Dark Blue wire). If brake lamps illuminate, replace brake lamp switch. If brake lamps do not illuminate, go to next step.
- Disconnect lamp outage module 14-pin connector. Measure voltage at lamp outage module 14-pin connector terminal No. 8 (White/Tan wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace lamp outage module. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open White/Tan wire between lamp outage module 14-pin connector and brake lamp switch connector.
