Test 7F - Short To Battery
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR
IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector terminals No. 14 (Violet/Brown wire) and No. 19 (Yellow/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown and Yellow Red wire.
- If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Black connector terminals No. 15 (White/Black wire) and No. 19 (Yellow/Red wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black wire and Yellow/Red wire.
- If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Black connector terminals No. 14 (Violet/Brown wire) and No. 21 (Dark Blue/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown wire and Dark Blue/Red wire.
- If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM connector terminals No. 15 (White/Black wire) and No. 21 (Dark Blue/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black wire and Dark Blue/Red wire.
- If resistance is more than 5 ohms, ensure BCM connectors are connected. Check resistance between chassis ground and BCM case. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair BCM case ground.
- If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check resistance of BCM Black connector terminal No. 13 (Black/Light Green wire). If resistance is more than 15 ohms, repair open Black/Light Green wire. If resistance is less than 15 ohms, replace BCM.
