Pump/Motor Circuits
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see wiring diagram.
- Disconnect relay box 10-pin connector. Inspect, clean and repair connector as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A. If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Connect a jumper wire between chassis ground and relay box 10-pin connector terminal No. 6 (Brown/White wire). Using scan tool, read status of pump/motor relay. If scan tool does not display PUMP MOTOR RELAY = OFF, repair open in Brown/White wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If scan tool displays PUMP MOTOR RE-LAY = OFF, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Remove relay box from Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU). Reconnect relay box 10-pin connector to relay box. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, actuate pump/motor relay. Using an external voltmeter, check voltage between pump/motor connector terminals. See Fig 1. If reading switches from zero to 10 or more volts, replace pump/motor. Perform TEST VER-1A. If reading does not switch from zero to 10 or more volts, replace relay box. Perform TEST VER-1A.
